In Korean, 오빠 (oppa) is what a female calls an older guy, whether he’s her brother, a close friend, or even her boyfriend or husband. It’s a term you’ll hear a lot in everyday conversations, both in casual and intimate settings. For example, a younger sister calls her older brother “oppa,” and a girlfriend might call her boyfriend “oppa.” On the other hand, 오빵 (oppang) is a cute and playful twist on “oppa.” Females use it to sound more affectionate and endearing in informal, casual situations, to add a touch of playfulness.
