How to Make Negative Sentences in Korean

Turning Korean Nouns into Verbs with 하다

In Korean, a noun is called ‘명사’ (myeong-sa), and a verb is called ‘동사’ (dong-sa). When you start learning about Korean verbs, one of the most helpful patterns to understand is how certain nouns that describe actions or behaviors can turn into verbs by simply adding 하다 (ha-da), which means “to do.”

Instead of memorizing entirely new words, you can simply attach 하다 to specific nouns to create action verbs. This combination is common in Korean, making it easy to express everyday activities.
