Korean Topic Marking Particles 은 and 는

In Korean, topic marking particles 은 (eun) and 는 (neun) are used to indicate the topic of a sentence. The choice between the two depends on whether the preceding noun ends in a consonant or a vowel.

(eun) is used after a noun that ends in a consonant. And (neun) is used after a noun that ends in a vowel.

Examples:

If the noun ends in a consonant:
집 (house) → 집 (jib-eun)

If the noun ends in a vowel:
학교 (school) → 학교 (hak-gyo-neun)
