In Korean, 개 means ‘dog,’ but as a counter, it is used to count things or objects.
How to use 개 as a counter:
- 한 개 (han gae) = one thing/object
- 두 개 (du gae) = two things/objects
- 세 개 (se gae) = three things/objects
Example sentences:
Structure: noun + number + counter
- 사과 한 개 주세요. = Please give me one apple.
- 책 두 개 있어요. = There are two books.
Notes: 개 (gae) is used for general objects, not people or animals. It’s very commonly used in daily conversation.
