To count buildings, houses, apartments or similar structures in Korean, you use the counter 채 (chae).
How to use 채:
- 한 채 (han chae) = one building/house
- 두 채 (du chae) = two buildings/houses
- 세 채 (se chae) = three buildings/houses
Example sentences:
Structure: noun + number + counter
- 집 한 채 있어요. = There is one house.
The counter 채 (chae) is also used to count blankets and pieces of furniture, particularly large furniture items like beds, wardrobes, tables, and other similar pieces.
