To express minutes in Korean, you use the counter 분 (bun). It is used with Sino-Korean numbers to indicate the number of minutes.
Structure: number + counter
How to use 분:
- 일 분 (il bun) = one minute
- 이 분 (i bun) = two minutes
- 삼 분 (sam bun) = three minutes
Example sentences:
- 지금 몇 분이에요? = What minute is it now?
- 저는 십오 분 동안 기다렸어요. = I waited for 15 minutes.
When combined with 시 (si) for telling time, it looks like this:
- 두 시 십 분 = 2:10
- 세 시 삼십 분 = 3:30
Always remember to use Sino-Korean numbers with 분.
