Korea is surrounded by the sea on three sides: the Yellow Sea to the west (서해), the Sea of Japan (East Sea, 동해) to the east, and the East China Sea (동중국해) to the south. The only side that’s not bordered by the sea is the north, which shares a land border with North Korea and China.
