To say “spring” in Korean, you would use the word 봄 (pronounced “bom”). This refers to the season of spring.
When most of us think of spring, we picture blooming flowers, warmer weather, and a general sense of renewal. As the chill of winter gives way to the warmth of 봄, Koreans eagerly await the blossoming of cherry blossoms, or “벚꽃” (beotkkot), and the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities without heavy jackets.
Spring in Korea is also a time for traditional festivals, such as the “진달래축제” (Azalea Festival), celebrating azaleas, or the “벚꽃축제” (Cherry Blossom Festival), which attracts tourists from around the world. These events bring people together to celebrate the beauty of the season and the sense of renewal that comes with it.
