Here are three ways to ask “How much is this?” in Korean, depending on the formality level:
- Formal (존댓말)
이것은 얼마입니까? (igeoseun eolmaimnikka?)
Used in very respectful situations, like when speaking to elders or in a formal setting.
- Standard
이거 얼마예요? (igeo eolmayeyo?)
This is the most common and casual way to ask “How much is this?” in Korean. Used in most everyday situations.
- Informal (반말)
이거 얼마야? (igeo eolmaya?)
Used with friends or people you are close to.
