The counter for money in Korean is 원 (won). This is used when counting units of currency. The word 원 is attached after the number to indicate the amount of money.
For example:
- 천 원 (cheon won) = 1,000 won
- 이백 원 (i-baek won) = 200 won
- 오백 원 (o-baek won) = 500 won
- 일 원 (il won) = 1 won
- 만 원 (man won) = 10,000 won
- 십만 원 (ship-man won) = 100,000 won
Note: The counter 원 is used only for money and currency amounts. When referring to other objects, different counters (like 개 for general objects or 권 for books) are used.
