예요 (yeyo) is a polite way to say “is” or “am” in Korean when the noun ends in a vowel. 예요 (yeyo) is a polite form of the verb “이다” (ida), which means “to be” in Korean. You’d use it in sentences to describe or identify something or someone in present tense, just like “이에요” (ieyo), but you use it for nouns that end in a vowel.
For example, “It’s coffee” would be “커피예요” (keopi-yeyo) instead of “커피이에요” (keopi-ieyo) because the word 커피 ends in a vowel.
